Who’s behind it

Marina Vaughan Spitzy is the founder of Tecolote Advisory, a family wealth advisory firm that specializes in helping multigenerational families navigate complex wealth ownership challenges. Marina’s approach integrates emotional and financial preparedness, focusing on a family’s human, intellectual, and spiritual capital in addition to traditional estate planning.

With extensive experience as a strategist and policy writer, Marina has held advisory roles in Washington DC, London, and Vienna, working with UHNW families, NGOs, international campaigns, and a presidential candidate. She began her career as a researcher at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and has contributed to publications on topics such as transatlantic relations and accessibility.

Marina is a frequent speaker on family wealth and well-being and serves as an Ambassador for The Beam Network, empowering women wealth holders, and the Blue Marine Foundation, which she helped to found. She also sits on several not-for-profit boards.

She holds a BA Hons from Trinity College Dublin in History, an MA in International Relations from King’s College London, and is an Associate Member of STEP, certified in International Wealth and Investment Management (CISI). Marina is also the Managing Partner of Corecam Private Office. She is based in Vienna, Austria, with her family.

Speaker and Author

Marina has participated on a number of publications throughout her career, on subjects ranging from transatlantic relations to disability rights. In recent years however, she has become a thought leader on matters relating to family governance and women with wealth. Marina frequently participates as a speaker and panelist, including as a guest lecturer on the challenges of inheritors at the Business University of Vienna (WU). She has appeared on podcasts and is often invited to lead group sessions around ownership preparation, including at Campden Wealth.

Marina is particularly passionate about supporting women in family enterprises. She co-authored 'Women in Power: A discussion on gender bias in the family enterprise' that was presented in New York in 2023 at the Family Firm Institute annual event, and is currently working on a global research study of women leaders. The purpose of this work is to learn from women leaders around the world, tell their stories and help enable the next generation of women on their leadership journeys. More information coming soon!
